Service

While SMAC has evolved into more than just a service organization, we take pride in sticking to our roots and complete a variety of service projects every semester. Sisters are encouraged to bring forward their own projects in addition to the events our Service Chairs coordinate. Most of the service we do involves some sort of hands on interaction, whether it is cooking, repairing, or building. Every sister must complete a minimum service hour requirement. Our official philanthropy is the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Out of the Darkness

Each spring, SMAC hosts its Out of the Darkness Walk on campus for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In Spring 2016, our walk raised over $5,000 and had over 200 participants, making it our biggest walk yet!

Turkey Trot

Each fall, we have host our Turkey Trot 5K on the SUNY Geneseo campus. The registration fee is $5 or 2 canned goods, which are donated to the Mount Morris Food Pantry to help families needy families in the area have a Thanksgiving diner.
